Brandon Brown

1987 - 2022

Brandon Lee Brown, 35, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 10, 2022. He was born Jan. 16, 1987, to Gene V. Brown and Cindy K. Mitchell (Morin).
Brandon was born and raised here in Fairbanks, and as a small child fell in love with the beauty Alaska had to offer. Brandon attended school in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, where he made lasting friendships. Brandon had many interests; one of his passions was hiking the hills and mountains, exploring the great unknown on trails led by pioneers before him.
He had a talent to draw and took pride in drawing the many beautiful animals here in Alaska. From the time he was walking you often found Brandon running and chasing after frogs. Brandon learned to hunt and fish fairly young and that love only grew as he did. Everywhere he traveled you would see him with his fishing pole and tackle box loaded to drop a line in the nearest creek, riverbed or lakes all around Alaska. He had great opportunities while working for Alaska Dreams Inc., traveling to the furtherst northern towns and down into Southeast communities.
Brandon seemed to excel at everything he tried. In sports he played basketball, baseball, football and skateboarding, but the greatest passion of all was snowboarding. He saved money to travel to Canada, Colorado, California and Utah. The lad had a talent on the slopes and loved to share with others his passion. He took time to explain and teach when someone would join him. Many have shared stories of the friend they called B; the greatest is knowing he was kind and humble, slow to judge, and quick to forgive.
Brandon's friend, Elijah, invited him to their family's old gold claim. That summer he got gold fever, studying maps and books for hours. He would load his truck to head for the hills when the work day ended. We can't imagine a day without you buddy, but the hope that we have is knowing that you believed. John 3:16.
Brandon is preceded in death by Alan O. Oines, Robert F. and Jeffrey R. Conley; Keith W. Mitchell (grandfather), Markus S. Morin, Tommy M. Brown (grandfather), and Gramma Bea Thompson.
He is survived by mother Cindy and Dean Morin; siblings, Jennifer Berggren, Leslie Fuelling, Rene Kappel and Maria Henry; grandmother, Teresa A. Mitchell; aunts and uncles, Kelly and Dale Oines, Sharita and Zeb Mabie, Floyd Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Scott and Dottie Mitchell, Theresa Morin; and cousins, Jason Mitchell, Tyler and Naomi Mitchell Michael.
Brandon is survived on his father's side by Gene and Lorraine Brown, siblings Kent and Kristina Brown, Haley and Patrick Brady, Ariel and JD Miller, Dallas Brown, Sierra Brown, Whittier, Gwen, Zoe Williams; grandmother Patricia Brown, Aunt Delilah and Robert Daniel, Aunt Dalanda and Mike Pulice; cousins, Candice, Catherine, Dominic.
A memorial and celebration of life will be held at True North Church, 2830 Airport Way, Saturday, May 7, at 3?p.m. All are welcome to attend.
