Cathy Griseto Obituary

Cathy Ann Griseto, 70, of Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away in Thornton, Colorado on May 9, 2024 in the presence of her loving family.
She was born in Missouri in 1954 to Charles and Doris Lewis. Cathy raised four sons, Edward, Daniel, Preston, and Christopher. In 1989, Cathy and her husband, Al Griseto, relocated the family from Colorado to Fairbanks. She worked as an accountant and paralegal while her boys were younger. While her sons were growing up, she delved into their activities and became a vital member of the community through volunteering. Cathy worked for the veterinary program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for many years until she retired in 2020.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Becky. She is survived by her four sons, Edward Berger, Daniel (Anna) Berger, Preston Berger, and Christopher (Pamela) Berger; her grandchildren, Derek, Destiny, Kimberly, Aydan, David, Kylor, Scarlett, Ava, Abbie and Aldenie; her sister Debbie; and her best friend Sherry. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
A catered celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 9 at RJ's Lounge.

I met Cathy a week after meeting Al. He drove cab back around 1989, he actually owned his own cab. I thought it was a neat gig, and Al asked if I wanted to drive for him on the weekends so he could spend more time with Cathy; I took him up on it. He & Cathy had me over to the house for a meeting (Cathy insisted on meeting me first) and we were in business. That went on for about two years and I always loved seeing the two of them around town. Rest well, Cathy; you were a gem.
