2007 - 2024

Derrick James (Albert) Clow, our sweet and handsome boy, a beacon of light to those who cherished him, passed away on Nov. 1, 2024, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on Nov. 13, 2007, in Fairbanks to Rodney Albert and Dorothia Christian, Derrick's life was marked by resilience and love, having found his forever home through adoption with his father, Scott, and brother, Deshawn.

Derrick grew up in Arctic Village, and he was a very compassionate and witty young man who cherished time with family and friends and found joy in gaming and hanging out with his brother, Deshawn. Derrick was quiet and shy, but very kind, and had the best sense of humor. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and warmth, inspiring those who knew him to continue spreading love and positivity.

Derrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Cora Christian, and Mae Clow; his brother, Rodney Jr.; his aunts, Christina Christian, baby girl Christian, and Samanthia Christian; his great uncles and aunts, John John, John Christian, Josie John; and his cousins, Andrew John, Brian John, Mark James, Brian James, Annie James and niece Baby Leena.

Derrick is survived by his fathers, Scott Clow and Rodney Albert; mother, Dorothia Christian; and siblings, Jeromy, Elizabeth, Deshawn, Christopher and Sabrina.

He will forever be remembered by his aunties, Corrina (Bruce) Christian, Mabeleen (Joe) Christian, Barbara McMillan (Ricky), Tracey Wells, Tina Fulford (Jon), Rhonda Titus, Joni Titus, Linda Titus and Lucy; uncles, James Clow (Josselyn), James Christian, Arthur Titus and Stacey Titus; grandparents, James R. Clow, William Tritt (Cora), Gideon James, Sarah James, Mary Gilbert (Trimble), Marion (Charlie), Marie (Harvey), Abraham, Louie, James, Jonathon, Yolana, Joyce, Marty, Jerrilyn (Efrain), Caroline, Barbara.

Derrick's vast extended family, who will continue to cherish his memory and uphold his legacy of kindness and love, include cousins Tayden, Breana, Phebee, Winter, Ducet, Nevada, Trinity, Jose, Allyssa, Cole, Athena, James, Kiana and many more cousins and friends, too many to mention.

Services are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Fairbanks Funeral Home, 3704 Erickson Ave., to be followed by the final funeral and burial on Monday, Nov. 11, in Arctic Village.
