Jason Powers Obituary

Our beloved Jason S. Powers Sr. was born on March 8, 1970, in Fairbanks, Alaska. He died Sept. 26, 2025, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital of heart failure.

Jason graduated from Austin Lathrop High, and played the violin and piano.

He loved to spend time at the Lost Lake property fishing, boating and swimming, and went hunting every year with the family. He played chess with friends and was very good.

Jason was a professional in his field. He specialized as a welder, plumber, laborer and in asbestos removal, and worked for a good friend, Jeff Masters Plumbing, and at the ice park for Dick and WA Binkley, along with Larry Tabor. He was a handyman for Ambassador Inn Apartments for Luna, and loved to spend time with her dog. With Bob and Lucy Binder, he had a good meal and great company. Jason eventually retired due to heart issues.

Jason is survived by his mother, Marlys Powers; his children, son Jason S. Powers Jr. and daughters Skyla, Celina and Sierra Powers; granddaughter, Sophia Martinez; and many uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald F. Powers Sr.; brother, Ronald F. Powers Jr.; and grandparents, Bob and Minnie Robertson, and Ronald P. and Dolly Powers.

There was a private viewing Oct. 2, 2025. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. The family is deeply grateful for all the love and support they received.
