He married his high school sweetheart Marjorie in 1968. They had three children, Charleen, Ronda and Eric; five grandchildren, Mallory, Lacey, John (Michael), Cassandra and Jerry (JD); four great-grandchildren, Zoey, Gideon, Miles and Alena.
He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Ethel Gallentine; sister, Raeann Caress; brothers, Charles and Melvin O'Quinn.
He joined the Navy after high school and held several different jobs in Fairbanks after getting out of the Navy. Yesterday

I met John at Laidlaw Transit driving school buses for Weller & Tanana in the 90´s. Both of us being vets we bonded pretty quickly and I always enjoyed our talks no matter what they were about. Thanks for the good times & friendship, John. Rest well.
