John Toth Obituary

Longtime Seward resident John W. Toth, 63, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at his home.
John was born Dec. 16, 1947, in Rahway, N.J. He graduated from high school in Seward and then attended aircraft mechanics school and later became a journeyman painter. He lived in both Fairbanks and Seward.
While in Fairbanks, he worked as a painter for the Fairbanks Painters & Allied Trades Local 1555. He also owned and operated Toth Painting & Drywall in Seward and was a commercial fisherman. He retired from the International Brotherhood of Painters & Allied Trades.
John was a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Seward. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Elks and the National Rifle Association. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, smoking and canning fish, gunsmithing, snowmachining and anything outdoors.
"John can be best remembered for his extensive knowledge and love for the outdoors. He had an ability unlike others to tell a story in such a way that it seemed almost magical. For those that knew and loved him would have felt truly blessed. He will remain in our hearts forever. May he be resting peacefully and once again be reunited with his loving daughter Brianne." His family said.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Beulah Murawsky; his brother, Jeffrey Toth; and his daughter, Brianne Toth.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Hollie Toth and grandsons, Brandon and Justin Toth, all of Eagle River; sister and brother-in-law, Nici Murawsky and Andy Mezirow and nephews, Brian and Tom Swabik, all of Seward; and other family and friends.
Memorial donations may be sent to Seaview Community Services, P.O. Box 1045, Seward, AK 99664, Seward Senior Center, P.O. Box 1195, Seward, AK 99664, Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1565, Seward, AK 99664 or Seward Volunteer Ambulance Corp., P.O. Box 1136, Seward, AK 99664.

We became friends as our girls went through highschool together and we shared and bemoaned the trials and tribulations of that. And as our girls grew up and became beautiful independent young women, we shared in the joy of that. Losing Bri and now losing you leaves such a big hole in our loves and our heart. I know you two are together again, but still miss you both so much.

I will miss you everyday. I love you very much. I knew you and Brianne could not be apart long and I hope you are with you family in a better place.

John Toth was my second dad and I will miss him dearly everyday and wish I could call him and have our weekly chat. He was the most amazing and unique person. It is a good thought to have to thinkm that he is with his family somewhere greater than here. I will make sure his many stories will continue to be shared. John had a sparkle in his eyes that I will never forget. I miss you John. I always knew that you and Brianne could not be apart. Rest in Peace.

He was my friend and he was a character, he loved his family and was always there for his friends. We had some good times throughout the years that I will never forget, he was a memory maker and a joy to know. I wish you peace my brother and God speed back to your family in heaven. To Shawn and Nicci, Andy and the boys.... he loved you with all his heart, he is ok now. You are all in my prayers.

John Toth, I was with your wife Renate Fellner when she saw you on Two Street in Fairbanks, slowed down and whistled. You lived next door to me when Brianne was born. Now you're all together with Jeff and your parents and my parents on the other side. Fond memories and love from Rebel.

I always considered John a good friend. He loved to cook for people, he could cook a mean clam. His smile will be missed. Rest in peace and have a good journey my friend.

We were all blessed to know John. I remember him as one of the coolest guys when he was crusin' as a teenager with his hair slicked back, arm hanging out of the car and a smile on his face. Our small town hurt with John when he lost his daughter. Words could not heal his pain. Now he is with her, may God bless the family left behind.
