Joseph Alurac Obituary

Former North Pole resident Joseph B. Alurac, 49, died in Fairbanks June 6, 2012.
He was born April, 11, 1963, in Nome to Bridget and John Alurac Sr., the seventh of 10 children.
Joe attended Nome High School. He was a member of the King Island and Bering Straight Native Corporation.
Joe always had a smile and loved his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Alurac Sr.; three brothers, Thomas Alurac, Stephen Alurac, Robert Alurac; sister, Martina Alurac; grandmother, Annie Pullock, and uncle, David Pullock.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bridget and John Brush of North Pole; sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Bryan Aucremanne of Anchorage; brother, John Alurac Jr. of Seattle; James Alurac of Anchorage; sister, Theresa Alurac of Spokane Wash.; brother, George Alurac Sr. of North Pole; sister, Rebekah Barr of North Pole; uncle, Raphael Alurac of Anchorage; niece, Deborah Wood of Raleigh N.C.; nephew, Michael Wood, and children, Kayla Wilson and Kaci and Cameron Wood of Cary, N.C.; niece, Judy (Sonny) Johnston, and children, Angelique and Andrea Snedden and Ashley Johnston of Sutton; niece, Jessica Emerick, and children, Sharleen, Tristan, Megan and Jasmine Emerick of Delta Junction; niece, Samantha Andrews, and children, Danielle and Dakota Sugak of Anchorage; nephew, George Alurac Sr. of Salem. Mass., and nieces, Cari and Meghan Barr of North Pole.
A memorial service will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012, in North Pole at the Fifth Avenue Recreation Park behind North Pole Elementary School.
