Lee Kalloch Obituary

Our beloved Lee was taken from us suddenly on Jan. 18, 2022, in Fairbanks, Alaska. Lee was born Nov. 22, 1982, in Fairbanks to Wade Kalloch and Louise Holmberg Edwin. He was raised in Fairbanks and Anchorage. As an adult, Lee made his permanent home in Fairbanks. Lee was a proud Dena man with family ties to Huslia, McGrath, Galena and Louisiana. Lee was dearly loved and his loss is deeply felt by his family and friends.
An intelligent, curious child, Lee had many interests and was an amazingly quick learner. From his teen years on, he could engage in conversation on a wide variety of subjects from religion and philosophy to metaphysics. Lee was a deep thinker who could also share a silly joke and hardy laugh. From childhood, he felt it was his job to care for and protect his younger siblings, many cousins and friends. Lee was the friend you could depend on.
As a teenager, Lee started learning the plumbing trade. Starting as a laborer, then a plumber's helper and eventually becoming a plumber in his own right. He could fix your leaky toilet or rough-in the plumbing for your new home. Whatever job he put his hand to, Lee was known as a hard worker and clever problem solver. He was always glad when he could lend a helping hand.
Like many men of his generation, Lee faced struggles and hardships throughout his life. He had the gift of being able to express his feelings, to listen to and empathize with others and to find hope in the darkest times. Although not a member of a formal religious community, Lee was a deeply spiritual person who had found his own understanding of, and relationship with, God.
Lee was preceded in death by his mother Louise Edwin, brother Christin Holmberg, maternal grandparents Ralph Holmberg, Sr. and Clara Clark; paternal grandparents Lee and Mercia Kalloch; uncles Rodney Holmberg and Ralph Holmberg, Jr.; aunt Loretta Luke and cousin Vincent Perdue.
He is survived by his father Wade Kalloch, son Treyson Wallis, sister Cyrillia Kalloch, brother Alex Merculief (Kendra), stepfather Stanford Edwin and grandfather Gordon Clark. Other surviving family includes his nephew and nieces Seth, Kierra, Suzannah, Madison and Alma. Aunts Amy (Chad) Nusunginya, Gina (David) Kalloch Evans, Becky Gallen (Louis), Shirley Holmberg (Terry), Mona (George) Nollner, Karen (Rick) Sitton. Uncles Fred Holmberg and Darrell Holmberg. Cousins David, Michael, James, Kris, Jon, David Lee, Ralph, Peter, Tsi-Yaa, James Lacey, Jr., Tillila, Bryon, Shara, Lawrence, Clara, Arnold Jay, Steven, Sydney, Gerry, Alysa, Mindona, Mitsi, Matthew "Sido", Jules, Chelsy, Chad, Jr. and Nelowa. Along with his large extended family in Alaska and Louisiana, Lee is survived by dozens of friends everywhere.
His handsome face and magical smile will be missed by all. We know our guardian angel will continue to watch over us.
Services for Lee Kalloch will be held Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at the JP Jones Center located at 2400 Rickert St. in Fairbanks, Alaska. Lee was one of my last conversations before leaving Fairbanks in 2020...it was a conversation that forever impacted my life..a conversation that was only possible with God sitting directly between 2 friends ...that spiritual connection to space and time that can never truly be repeated or acted out in a different time or space...I know we were both humbled and holding back tears...it was something powerful..having God in our midst and vividlyll ....we are all children of God who is Love. This is what we are to do...walk in love and in faith not by sight......Lee was a brother and I truly believe another Angel amongst us....we are told to be aware of entertaining Angels and our spirits do not die. Greater is He that is on me than he that is on the world. My prayers and respects to Lee's extensive family and may God be with you...may you all be comforted, granted peace and consistently blessed with the love that resonated in Lee. He is one Angel to be reckoned with and I'm honored to have him as a solid...I love you brother and may you rest in peace until we meet again.

I love you, Lee. We all do. You are missed more than you could believe. I know you are finally resting easy, and are watching over us all just as you always have... But I sure could go for one more hug. Give bumba a hug for me. You were a true friend and I will always carry you in my heart. Never forgotten, your name will be a household word for generations to come.
