Maggielynn Rose Charlie

Maggielynn Rose Charlie passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on June 8, 2014. She was an easy-going person with a strong inner strength.
Maggie was born Nov. 29, 1983, in Fairbanks to Christine Charlie, originally of Minto, and Lloyd Ketcham, of Circle. Maggie grew up in Fairbanks, attending Hunter Elementary School and then graduated from Chemawa Indian School in 2002. She was a loving, caring, kind person who would reach out and help her friends with no questions asked. She was creative in her beadwork, made her own Native dress and slippers. Maggie would always do little unexpected surprises for her family like making a birthday dinner for her mom when she came back from work. She was good at making Indian tacos, which her family and friends would always ask her to make. She loved to hang out, listen to music and watch movies with her friends. She will be immensely missed by her family and friends.
Maggie is survived by her son Jaydan; her mother Christine Charlie; sisters Crystal Dawn Charlie, Misty Jean Charlie and Jaylynn Jo Charlie; brother Charles Ketcham; nephews Joseph and Justice; nieces Markita, Gloria and Miley; aunts Patty Tritt, Esther (Del) Hayward, Veronica Charlie, Wanzie Charlie and Priscilla Johnson; uncles Lloyd (Joyce) Charlie and Roy Charlie; and many more relatives and friends too numerous to name.
Maggie was preceded in death by her father Lloyd Ketcham, of Circle; maternal grandparents Christopher and Martha Charlie, of Minto; paternal grandparents Sam Ketcham, of Oregon, and Ann John Ketcham, of Circle; David and Maggie John, of Circle; uncles Ollie and Curtis; and cousins Annette and Dana.
Services were held at 11 a.m. June 11 at Chapel of Chimes in Fairbanks. Interment at Minto Cemetery was held at 1 p.m. June 13 followed by a traditional potlatch.
