Marie Nielsen Obituary
Marie was born in Canton, Pennsylvania, and moved to Burley, Idaho, as a young child. There she met the love of her life, Craig Nielsen. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage. In 1975, the couple moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, which became their lifelong home.
A devoted homemaker, Marie created a warm and welcoming home filled with love. She had a passion for crafts and enjoyed sharing her creativity with others. Marie also worked as a hairdresser, where she formed many lifelong friendships. After retirement, she loved to travel and found her greatest joy in watching over and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary Wright; her siblings, Gene Wright (Edna) BettyJohnson (Earl); and her daughter, Teresa Nielsen.
Marie is survived by her devoted husband, Craig Nielsen; her daughters, Lisa Tacke, Delena Lerandeau (John), Shonna Smith (Earl). She also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren - Shaun, Alyssa, Jake, Kaitlyn, Makayla, Tanner, and Erica and five great-grandchildren.
Marie will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, and the love she poured into her family and community. Her family members and friends will miss her dearly.
A celebration of life for Marie will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 4, at the Moose Lodge. Reception and luncheon will follow.

I am so glad I was able to see you on your last visit back to Idaho, Aunt Marie you chuckles and infectious smile will be missed by all but Nan and my dad and grandma and grandpa and Teresa will be glad to put their arms around you again.

I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time with this family when Shonna and I were in elementary school. They were loving, funny and wholesome. So many memories fade, but I have that house mapped out in my mind. I have stories. I was safe there and I´m so grateful for the time I had with all of them. Love you guys. Rest in Peace, Marie.

One of the kindest
woman to have walked this earth. Marie's heart was so loving, and her sing song laughter I can still hear. She was like a second mother, and my best friend Delena was so blessed to have her and willing to share. Their home was one of love, warmth, family meals, and safety, the true epitome of a beautiful family. God Bless Marie, a truly precious soul. She had such a profound effect on my life. Condolences to the Nielsen family. Craig was the perfect complement to such a wonderful human being.
