I knew Michael very well while serving on the USS Inchon. He was a great mentor during my early years in the service. I remember Michaels love of motorcycles and his bringing his bike with him on our med cruise. Very saddened to hear of his passing. I hope this may be seen by his family and I do hope you know he was a very good mentor to use coming aboard that mighty ship.

May God be with the Pope family. I am truly sorry for you loss. I never had the honor of meeting Michael but just talking with him on the phone I knew he was a wonderful person that really loved Alaska.
