Paul Kannenberg Obituary

Paul Steven Kannenberg, 54, passed away peacefully at his home in Greeley, Colorado, on Aug. 4, 2025. Paul was born on June 23, 1970, to Steven and Carol (Jacobson) Kannenberg.
He spent most of his childhood and adulthood in Alaska, first on Eielson Air Force Base and then in North Pole, where he graduated from North Pole High School. After graduation, Paul went to work in the oil industry, where he worked for 37 years, mostly in North Pole, briefly relocating for work in Kansas and Texas, before eventually moving to Colorado.
Paul shared his dad's love of golf, sometimes working part-time at golf courses and often joining family or friends for a Lower 48 golf trip. He enjoyed teaming up with his siblings and cousins for many epic salmon and halibut fishing adventures. We also have fond memories of him racing in the bomber class at the NP Speedway. His little dog Higo was his constant companion in recent years.
Paul appreciated the milder climates during his time in the Lower 48 but his heart never left Alaska. We will eventually bring him home to spread his ashes in the places he most loved.
Paul was a kind and loving person who will be greatly missed by his mother, Carol Bras; father, Steven; and step-mother, Linda; sisters, Vinna Norris and Lindsay (Chris) Chambos; brother, Brandon Bras; four nieces; one nephew; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his many friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Georgiann; grandparents, Richard and Bette Kannenberg and Donald and Vivian Jacobson; uncle, Robert "Robb" Kannenberg; and aunt, Faye (Jacobson) Hartert.

Paul tossed me the keys to his new Mustang, shouting in his colorful way, "Don´t screw up!" He was helping my uncle in the garage one late summer night when I stopped by, surprised to see my dream car in the driveway. With a new license and more horsepower than I´d ever experienced, I dropped the clutch and stalled it in a lurch.
Paul shot a funny scowl at me, pointing a disapproving finger. My second attempt was successful, and, feeling brave, I roared down Trainor Gate Road headed for Farmers Loop. It was one of the most thrilling nights of driving I´ve ever had.
He cracked me up at softball games and was always a welcome presence at our family barbecues.
Godspeed, Paul.
