Ruby Boles

1921 - 2012

Longtime Alaska resident of both Fairbanks and Anchorage, Ruby Smart Boles, 90, born Nov. 22, 1921, passed away on Aug. 3, 2012, in Las Vegas.

If Mom was here right now, she would say, "Shoot, let's just go play Bingo!"

Mom was definitely the matriarch of our family. Next to Bingo, her family was the most important thing in her life. She was the bond that held us all together, and she always was there when we needed her, always keeping everyone informed about the others in the family.

She took care of many people throughout her lifetime.

Mom would never want us to be sad now. She would tell us she had a very adventurous life with many ups and downs, but there was always something new on the horizon. She lived her life with love and laughter.

One of the most recent happiest times was celebrating her 90th birthday! She traveled from Nevada to many states - Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, and Alaska - to celebrate with friends and family who loved and cherished her. At the end of the year, she said, "No more parties!"

Mom received Jesus into her life in 1970, so we know she is at peace with her Creator.

When mom became sick she said, "Oh, I am not ready - too many people love me, and I have so much to do."

Mom, all of us will miss you more than you know. Love from your daughters and son, Wilma Sue Schrieber, of Las Vegas, Barbara Dell Shumate, of Fairbanks, Linda Carol Luhrs, of Seattle, Georgie Gail Boles, of Wright City, Okla., and James Glenn Spagano, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, along with all of your grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
