Tamara Jones

1963 - 2021

With great sadness, the family of Tamara Jean Jones of Fairbanks, Alaska, announces her passing. Tammie lost her battle against cancer at the age of 58 on the 8th day of November 2021. She fought very hard since being diagnosed in February of this year but sadly she had to leave us to rest in peace with her Lord and Savior in Heaven.
Tammie was born in Sauk-Prairie, Wisconsin, in 1963. She lived in Waunakee, Wisconsin, with her parents and two brothers until they moved to Cameron, Wisconsin, when she was 8 years old.
Tammie played volleyball in school and worked at a local restaurant during high school until she graduated from Cameron High school in 1981. After graduating, Tammie moved to Indiana where she married Ted Jones Sr. She had one child, her son, Ted Jones Jr., in 1982. A few years later she moved back to Wisconsin where she became a CNA and worked at a local rest home. In 1991, Tammie and Ted Jr. moved to Alaska to be by her parents in Fairbanks.
Tammie worked as a CNA at Denali Center for over 20 years until she began working at FNA for the last 10 years.
Tammie spent many summers camping with her family and friends; she loved Alaska. She and Ted Jr. went on lots of Alaska adventures together with friends and family alike. She loved life and was always excited to spend time with her loved ones. Tammie will be in our hearts and lovingly remembered by all those who had had the joy of knowing her.
Tammie is survived by her mother, Marie Eastman; her son, Ted Jones Jr. (Mary); her brothers, Vaughn Eastman (Janet) and Vance Eastman (Brenda); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Tammie's life at 3?p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at McGrath Road Baptist Church, 1100 McGrath Road, with refreshments to follow.
