Ginny, you introduced me to a whole new world as a 16 year growing up in California, driving me to Alaska to spend the summer of 1964 at Camp Denali. You were so opposite from mom, you became my hero and opened my eyes to a whole new world. Oh how I wanted my children to know you. You would have recognized that spirit of adventure in each of them. I will always cherish the last time we talked on the beach just before Nana passed. I still dream of returning to Alaska to show them their Great Aunt Ginny’s world. You will always be in my heart. Thank you for opening my eyes to another world. Happy Birthday to Romany on this May 8. I think so often of you as well and our summer together

Ginny grew up with the Milton B Howe (my grandfather) family and the Al Rogers family at Waterville Washington. I got to know her in later years and enjoyed our infrequent conversations.

A wonderful example of an adventurous life lived fully with modesty and warmth of spirit. The few occasions that our paths crossed in Fairbanks were memorable for her unwavering respect for the natural world and earthy dignity. She and Celia are fondly remembered out here by old timers.

Ginny was a jem. The great things that she and Celia did for Alaska and the Environmental movement there was superb. She will be remembered forever.
