To Mandy's family, I remember Mandy best as a sparkling. beautiful, talented, tennis player at Gibbons. She was my daughter Barbara Lemmons' tennis partner. Mandy had a personality that was unforgetable . Even though I didn't know her as an adult, these happy memories of her linger with me. We can celebrate her life that included so many wonderful and diverse activities. Her determination and courage in a long battle should be an inspiration for us all-she never gave up. Pat Lemmons

I am sorry to say that I did not know your Amanda. What a wonderful woman it sounds like she was in so many many ways. I am one of co-chairs of Raleigh RoundUp held in November here in Raleigh benefitting the American Cancer Society and know we work to raise money to fund research and programs for those like Amanda who suffer with Cancer. We are honored to do so in memory of those like Amanda. Please know your family and her Global Knowledge family is in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

Do not Stand at my Grave and Weep/ Mary Elizabeth Frye
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled fight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
In memory of our beloved Amanda Jane...taken from us all too soon.

Well this is one of the hardest things I have had to write. Amanda was a special part of my Gibbons memories and my youth.
When she moved back to Raleigh, her daughter Melanie had opportunities to babysit my children so Amanda and I could go out and be high schoolers all over again (legally this time).
To Karen her dear sister, having four sisters of my own, I can not imagine your pain. The loss of one of my sisters would be a loss greater then words can describe. I believe the love of a sister is like no other love you will find. It is a best friend times 100 who will love you no matter what you do or say. They are always there through your best and worst times and despite it all they always forgive you, love you and want to be with you. I know Amanda is not here with us physically anymore, but I believe God has her watching, laughing and helping you each and every day.
To Melanie and Steve, my heart breaks for both of you. The love a parent has for a child is so deep it defines who we are and every decision we make for the rest of our lives. As parents, our hopes and dreams are for you to have a life filled with joy and happiness. I know your mother wants this for both you. Never forget, as she said in her own words, "Make her Proud." I have no doubt you have and will continue to do so. When you are ever in doubt or feel alone in this adult world, never forget she will be there with you every step of the way.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
“Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.”

Dear Byer and Rothschild families,
My deepest and sincerest sympathies to you all. Amanda (Mandy as I knew her in high school) was a beautiful person and I can still so vividly see her laughing in class. Our loss is Heaven's gain and I'm sure she's making them laugh there too. She was a bright light in our class and a friend to all. May Our Lord comfort all of you in this difficult time.

Mandy, you were always one of my favorite people-I had so much fun with you..I've known you forever,& I've cherished every moment..I was honored to be there with you during your illness--you taught me so much about strength, courage & staying positive...there is an empty spot in my heart for you, though now I can fill it with wonderful memories.I miss you so much, but I know that when we meet again it will be glorious!
"And while we feel the pain of the parting,we rejoice in the faith that she has gone to be with You,for in Your presence is the fullness of joy,at Your right hand are pleasures for evermore."

Dear Family:
There are no words to express the depth of sorrow I feel or words enough to take away your hurt and pain. I hope one day you can find comfort knowing that Amanda is no longer in pain.
She graced our lives with her presence and love. All who knew Amanda have forever been changed and blessed because we knew and loved her. Her face lit up as she smiled with those great big, beautiful eyes of her's, almost as if they were dancing. She loved life and never once complained about the road that had been chosen for her. She taught us grace and showed dignity throughout her fight.
She loved and adored her family deeply and we all saw that love in return. May God bless and comfort you in this difficult time and in the days to come.
One author said, “Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart. – Unknown author." Amanda has left a crater in my heart and is definitely leaving a footprint in the hearts of many.
Love, Debbie

I only knew Amanda for a couple years, but my life is better as a result. She was an amazing person that carried herself with such grace and dignity. Even on her tough days at the office, you would never know she was battling for her life. If you asked her how she was, she would give you that brilliant smile and say everything was OK. She was such an inspiration.
I will miss Amanda, and my memories of her are all positive. Whenever I worry about the problem's life throws at me, I will remember how Amanda smiled threw her her battle with such gracefulness and dignity.
God Bless you dear Amanda, keep an eye out for us in Heaven.
