Andrew J Edwards, 79, died August 4, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday at Way of Life Church with Rev. L.E. Godwin, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Lou Edwards; four sons, Andrew Edwards, Jr. of Raleigh, Tommy Edwards of Raleigh, Lynn Bledsoe of Clayton, Phillip Edwards of Clayton; four daughters, Jackie Austin of Wendell, Wanda Adams of Clayton, JoAnn Edwards of Garner and Donna Edwards of Coats; brothers, Tom Edwards of Butner and Jim Edwards of Selma; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to RHA Howell, 140 Pirates Road, New Bern, NC 28562. The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Way of Life Church.

I remember Andy fondly as the pastor of the first church I attended as a little girl. What I remember most is the love we all shared for the Lord and one another. My prayer is the Holy Spirit minister comfort and assurance to each hurting and heavy heart. I may never see you on this earth again but I have a joy that is tangible concerning the reality of heaven and the reunion we will all share in! (I am the daughter of Luther and Frances Williams for those trying to recall who this might be)

Jackie, so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I know exactly what it feels like. My daddy has been gone 61/2 yrs and it seems like yesterday. Your family will be in thoughts and prayers.
