Andrew Petrides Obituary

Andrew Steven Petrides, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. He was surrounded by his wife and son.
Andrew, born October 17, 1932, was originally from Woonsocket, Rhode Island but resided Raleigh for the last 45 years. He served in the US Navy from 1951 - 1954. Following his service to our country, Andrew attended and graduated from the University of Rhode Island School of Engineering. After graduating, Andrew began a career in engineering with the General Electric Company. He would work for GE for 27 years. Andrew enjoyed the outdoors and spent every summer with his extended family at their vacation home in Big Moose Lake, NY.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Sharon Standley Petrides. They were married for 53 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Eleni Petrides, of Garner, and his grandchildren Matthew and Madison Petrides also of Garner, his son Alex George of Charlotte and his sister Elsie Interlini of Melbourne, FL.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 10 at the Petrides home, 4809 Kilkenny Place in Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Wake County.

I'm sorry for your loss.
Andy was my boss for 13 yr's. I have wonderful memories, of course. I owe much to him for my personal and professional development.
We also cut a lot of wood together, ate many country ham biscuits from Bossman's and saltwater fishing and seafood eating at NC coast.
I think of him often, Sharon, and will share his passing w/ those at Ace Hardware, where I would see him weekly, for years.
