Arnold Wischhusen Obituary

Arnold Frederick Wischhusen, 88, passed away on December 8, at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh. He was born in Binghamton, New York on August 2, 1930, to the late Hermann and Elsie Wischhusen. He married Edith Alford in August 1953.
Arnold is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joni and Jim Amerson of Raleigh; his son Randy Wischhusen of Raleigh; granddaughter Katherine and her husband Eric Goodwin of Wake Forest; granddaughter Caroline Amerson of Asheville; grandsons Eric and Daniel Wischhusen of Wilson; and five great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. Arnold is also survived by a special friend and neighbor, Evelyn Harris, as well as Jim and Ethel Boozer of Greensboro and several nieces and nephews.
Arnold grew up in Sidney, New York, and while stationed in the Navy in Washington, DC, he met Edith. After they married in 1953, they lived in Sidney, NY and Lexington, Kentucky before moving to Raleigh in 1965 with IBM, where Arnold worked for over 30 years.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday afternoon, December 23, at 3:00 p.m., St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Raleigh. Condolences may be shared at CremationSocietyNC.com
