Barbara N. Bubar, formerly of Watertown, Massachusetts has passed away after suffering a stroke at Raleigh Duke Hospital. She was 79. She resided in Watertown, MA for many years before moving to North Carolina, and was significantly involved in many organizations. She knit for the Seamen Society, sold Avon, was involved with the Rainbow Girls and gave a lot of her time to the Vision Foundation. She brought foster children into her home and cared for them for many years. She also was involved with the Lions Club and the Garden Club. She suffered from a corneal eye disease for the majority of her life, yet still found a way to meet her family's daily needs. She regained some of her vision after a number of corneal transplants, but her vision remained poor. She will be missed by her daughter Martha, and David Polleys of Meford, MA, her son Brian, and Joyce Bubar of Cary, North Carolina, and her brother Glenn Nutting of Lewiston, Maine. She was also the grandmother of Elise and Eric Polleys of Medford, MA and Melody and Jeffrey Bubar of Cary, North Carolina. She leaves behind beloved family and church members who cared for her deeply. She was a devout Christian, and is now at peace with God. Arrangements for her cremation will be through the Cremation Society of North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the charity of your choice – the Vision Foundation was particularly close to her heart. Sadly, we have lost an amazing woman, but can rest assured that a beautiful soul has been taken home.
