Barbara Rynerson Obituary
December 24, 1934 - February 28, 2022
Meridian, Idaho - Barbara Carol Rynerson (nee Ream) passed away on February 28, 2022 in Meridian, ID at the age of 87. She was born and raised in Oregon and received her BS and MS in nursing education from the U of O. Barbara moved to Chapel Hill, NC in 1974 where she had a long teaching career at the UNC School of Nursing, Chapel Hill. She retired in 1999. Barbara moved to Meridian, ID in 2019 to be closer to family. A Memorial service will be held at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Durham on May 14, 2022 at 1 pm. Friends and acquaintences are invited to attend this celebration of Barbara's life hosted by her nephew Reed and her niece Linda. https:\\barbara-carol-rynerson.forevermissed.com

I was on the faculty in the School of Nursing at UNC Chapel Hill when Barbara came from Oregon to Chapel Hill to interview for a faculty position. I had the pleasure of interviewing her and recommended adding her to the faculty.
After she moved to Chapel Hill she and I became good friends. One of the best memories I have was going to movies with her. Her belly laugh was so contagious that I laughed with her every time!
After Barbara retired she moved to Cary and bought a home in Carolina Preserve. I was pleased that her home was in the next block so we were able to share frequent walks and visits.
When Barbara made the decision to move her nephew came to help her pack and to drive her and her dogs West. I had heard from Barbara how important he was in her life so I was very glad to meet him.
Each of us who remember Barbara will always remember her!
I was sorry about her decision to move to be close to her niece but knew that she and her dogs would get the support she would need.

Barbara was a dear friend while here at Carolina Preserve. Just mentioned her name a few weeks ago to other friends. My deepest sympathies.
