It was a privilege to hear Ms. Arnold sing many times in the early to mid 1990's. She stood as a bellwether of technique, grace, simplicity, and courage to all of us. In the late 1990's I enjoyed a summer course of studio lessons with Sue. She taught me to trust my voice and my instincts, and to sing simply without adding anything to or subtracting anything from what was already there. There was such a calm and steadfastness about her. She obviously knew the voice of the Lord and followed it. It is a blessing to know that she was loved and well cared for.
"{11} ... but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice...." I Kings 19

She is my 1st cousin and she is in my prayers as well as her family. I sadly will not be able to attend the service.

Sue and her beautiful voice were a gift to her students and to all of Lubbock who appreciate music. Rest in peace and in the Light of God. I count myself as one of your many admirers.
