I never babysat anyone else quite like him. He was truly one of a kind. Colin tought me many valuable lessons throughout my teenage years. He taught me how to love someone outside my family like they were family. My heart has been totally crushed but I know he is looking down on us...... And probably still playing pranks on me! I love you Colin....... Always & Forever... You are missed dearly!!!!!

ooh boy...do colin and I go back. never met anyone more funny than colin. after all the years of Emily and I causing trouble, Colin was like a big brother. We definitely had some good times, crazy times...mad times and sad times. None more sad than this though. I miss him, and I hear and see how much his family misses him. Colin is so loved. And so missed.

We had some great times in Wilmington and when I serendipitously ran into you walking Roscoe in Cary three years later we picked right back up. You could lighten the mood in any situation and would do anything for a friend. You will be missed buddy.

For as long as I knew him I never thought it would be this hard to come up with something to write about him.We were so close for so long that i just don't know where to start. As loud and as fun and as exciting as Colin always was, when you got to talk to him one on one thats when my favorite parts of him would come through. He would do anything for his friends and family, and that is how ill always remember him. Nancy,Emily,Tom I wish i could of made it down there, please know that my family is there for you.You know he would want you guys to keep your heads up.

Much respect and love to Colin and family...I can't imagine how you feel, just know there is a wealth of love and support out there for you. Kirsch and I weren't very close in recent years but this has still hit me as hard as if we never skipped a beat. He is one bright spirit and his memory will shine on forever. I will take this as a strong reminder to always try and live every day to its fullest. Kirsch, I miss you my friend! Rest in peace.

It was with great shock and sympathy when I saw the notice about Colin in the newspaper. I have such fond memories of his always joyful countenance when he & Evan, and gang, were together @ West Cary! Evan just this week moved back to Raleigh & was devastated to learn of your loss. Dear Nancy and Emily,
Please accept our sincere sympathy for the loss of your precious Colin. Our children spent many years together growing up. Christopher and Colin continued to share a close friendship into adulthood. I'm glad they have the memory of Nate's wedding as their last 'group' fun. What a special way to be together, celebrating one of the 'boy's ' wedding! Our family will be thinking of you Nancy and Emily and remembering our years at Silverton , Northwoods, West Cary Middle School, and Green Hope HS. You are in our prayers. Love, The Arout Family
