I was just listening to some of David's Great Music on the memorial site. It brought a tearful smile thinking back to the days of our youth. Like so many of you, I had the opportunity to see His wonderful band, The Fabulous Knobs, at various shows. They were absolutely Great. My prog rock group Triart played a couple of shows with Glass Moon at the Pier in 1982. I remember the genuine respect and help that the local bands gave to each other, like a Rock fraternity or extended family. Very unique scene that is missed today. David will surely be missed by the people He touched in life and there were many. What a Great Player and His Music was Real Truth. My heart felt sympathy to his Family and close friends. Rock On David until we see You again. A Fellow Warrior, Devon Sharpe

I discovered the sad news of David's death today, when I picked up the Independent. I can't say I knew him well, but we knew who each other were from back when I co-edited "The Dixie Voice." I remember his eyes flashing and a funny thing he said to me one night at the 'new' Pier. I'll always remember his talent and spark and charm. My condolences to his family and close friends. I'll have to look through my old magazine files for photos. He will be missed.

Too young to have seen the Fabulous Knobs, but enjoyed many Woods shows at the Brewery and elsewhere in NC. A great band who wasn't too pretentious to socialize with the fans. David, thank you for sharing your music with the world, God bless ...

David Enloe is musical truth...and "Bo knows". Remember the Woods backed Bo Diddley for 2 shows at the Brewery. Bo thought he would show up the local guy trading guitar licks back & forth in the 1st show. He might have except the local guy was David Enloe. Bo didn't try that stunt in the 2nd show hours later. Peace be with you my friend and those who love you.

David will always live in my memory with a Telecaster slung around his neck - squeezing out those perfect licks for the Knobs. He will be sorely missed. Thanks David for all that great music.

I knew David from the 1980s, when his many bands played in Winston-Salem. His beautiful face, eyes and smile will forever live on in the hearts of all those who watched him play. His awesome guitar-playing has earned him a place in our hearts and in that of North Carolina music history.
Peace be with you, David, your family, loved ones and all during this part of your journey. With love, Jody

North Moore High School 1975 just may have been the beginning of "The Fabulous Knobs". Man, that boy can play!

David was such a great guy and I extend my sympathy to his family. The Fabulous Knobs were an all time favorite back at the Underground Pier days. The bands David played in brought much happiness to alot of their fans. He will be missed.

Wishing David's family & close friends much love and comfort in the days ahead. That he was a fine musician and friend doesn't even come close to expressing the loss.
