Dawn Davis Stroupe, 80, of Raleigh went to be with Jesus on Epiphany Sunday at sunset, January 6, 2019. Memorial Service will be held at Salem Baptist Church of Apex in the Chapel at 4 PM with family visitation from 3-4 PM. A native of Cherryville, NC, Dawn was the daughter of the late Howard & Ophelia Davis. She was a 1956 graduate from Cherryville High School and a 1960 graduate of Appalachian State Teachers College and worked as a teacher at St. Timothy's, Raleigh Academy, and Carnage & Carroll Middle Schools. She swam competitively with Raleigh Area Masters and placed in the top 10 nationally for her age group 37 times. She loved the Lord and did volunteer work for various Christian organizations. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Michael A. Stroupe; 4 daughters Terri Stroupe, Heather Miner, Keira Vestal, and Greta Graham; and 6 grandchildren Toby Vestal, Zoe Vestal, Tiffany Miner, Eva Vestal, Collin Graham, and Cameron Graham.
