Donna Levin Obituary

Mrs. Levin, of Charlotte, was guided by angels peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2009. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 19, 1936, the daughter of Louis and Anne Garson. She was educated in Pennsylvania, before moving to Charlotte in 1965. In Charlotte, she spent her time raising her sons, and worked with her husband to establish his business. She was member and strong supporter of Temple Beth El for 44 years. She had a sense for fashion, loved to travel, and spending time with her family and friends. She faced her 15 year battle against cancer with grit and determination. Toward the end, she was at peace with her accomplishment. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Norman; her son, Frank of Philadelphia and his wife, Flora; her son, Ross of Charlotte and his wife, Nance; sister, Marlene Gilbert and her husband, Herb Gilbert of Boynton Beach, FL; her grandchildren, Hinda, Devorah, Esther, Sterna, Dovber, and Kristi; and many family members and friends. The burial service was Thursday, July 9th at B’nai Israel Cemetery, Middleton Rd, Greensburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Donna S. and Norman Levin Family Endowment for Education of Temple Beth El 5101 Providence Rd Charlotte, NC 28226 or to Presbyterian Hospice 324 N. When I heard the news it just touched my heart. Donna would come to the salon and get her hair and nails fixed and we could feel her presence and see that smiling face long before she would even come for her appointments. She will be missed and I send my love and prayers to the family.....Be blessed and stay strong.

Dear Norman,

We were so sadden to hear the news. We know what a brave fight she gave and such a wonderful sweet person. I am so thankful that we happened to be over at the Silverman's visiting when you all came by this spring to see Shara's baby. Donna looked so lovely holding Samantha, and I will never forget that.
All our thoughts are with you and I know Donna is dressing everyone to perfection in Heaven. She always looked wonderful and her smile made everyone happy.

All our love,

Emily,, Jeff, Rachel and Shelby Vaughan
