Doris Knecht Obituary
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the University United Methodist Church in downtown Chapel Hill.
Doris was born in Cincinnati, OH, where she received a BA from the University of Cincinnati and an MS in chemistry from Xavier. After moving to Chapel Hill in 1982, she earned an MS in computer science from UNC. Doris worked as a software engineer for several local companies, including Data General, Intersolv, Intelligent Information Systems, and Network Appliance, before retiring. She was a member of the University United Methodist Church and an active participant in their women's association.
Doris is survived by her husband, Laurance and daughter, Anne, both of Chapel Hill.
Memorial contributions can be made to: University United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill (PO Box 728, 27514), or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, ALS Division.
