Durant Holler Obituary

Durant Cooper Holler, Jr. of Sanford died Sunday October 28, 2007 at Wake Medical Center in Cary.
A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Buffalo Cemetery.
Mr. Holler was born in Sanford on August 24, 1926 to the late Durant Cooper Holler, Sr. and Inez Johnson Holler. He was a 1944 graduate of Sanford High School. He was a veteran of WWII having served his country in the Pacific Theater. He was a graduate of Wake Forest College.
On January 15, 1949 he married Eleanor Heins who preceded him in death on December 1, 1964. Mr. Holler was a retired lumberman and businessman. He served as an U.S. Commissioner, as did his father before him.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sanford, the VFW, American Legion and the Sanford Elks Lodge.
His wife Margaret Thomas Holler survives him: three children, Durant C. Holler III, Nancy Holler Kinlaw and Jane Holler Thomas. He is also survived by six stepchildren, Patricia Thomas Brown, Kathie Thomas Womack, Joan Thomas Bland, Susan Thomas Blakely, Tommie Thomas Angel and Michael Haigs Thomas; one sister, Josephine Holler Womack (husband Henry); a brother-in-law, W.H. Heins, Jr.; seven grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren also survive him.
The family will receive friends from 1 til 2:30 at Miller-Boles Funeral Home.
