Elisha Weaver Obituary

Elisha Edwin "Sport" Weaver, 90, died Friday, October 12, 2001. He was born November 28, 1910 in Nash County, the son of the late Elisha Patrick and Dora Robbins Weaver.
Mr. Weaver was employed by Atlantic and Seaboard Coast Line Railroads as a locomotive engineer from 1938 until retired in 1978. He was an avid golfer and an active member of the local Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dolores Crusenberry Weaver; two sons, Edwin Carol Weaver of Raleigh and Elisha Patrick Weaver, II, of Panama City Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Bryan Patrick Weaver of Dallas, Texas and Katherine Weaver Thomas of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2001 at Mill Branch Cemetery with Rev. Thayer Stamper officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday evening, October 13, 2001 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home and other times at the home.
In lieu offlowers memorials can be made to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, 516 N. Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC or to a charity ofyour choice.
