Elizabeth Wilson Obituary
Cooke Wilson entered into eternal rest on December 5, 2009 at the age of 98.
Elizabeth was born in Warrenton, NC, the 3rd child of the late, Joe King Kearney and Nancy Lunie Twitty Kearney.
She was married to the late R. Jerome Wilson and is survived by her older sister Mary Branche of Chesapeake, VA; a daughter, Joycelyn Davenport Sr. (Earl) of Hampton, VA; adopted children, Robert Cooke (Luretha) of Charlotte, Elizabeth Chavours of Hampton, VA and Doris Young of Raleigh; grandchildren, Avise Skinner (Albert W.) of Anderson, IN and Antoinette Ford (Antoine) of Hopewell, VA and Earl Davenport II (Tammy); adopted granddaughter, Coretta Williams of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, A. Niculaie Skinner (Constance) of West Lafayette, IN, A. Jacob Skinner of Bloomington, IN, Jennifer Elizabeth Skinner and Georgia Skinner of Anderson, IN; Briana J. Ford and Antoine E. Ford of Hopewell, VA, Breon M. Davenport and N’Dea Davenport of Anderson, IN., and enumerable nieces; nephews; great-nieces; nephews; and friends.
Elizabeth was a life long member of First Baptist Church, 101 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC; where the funeral will be held Saturday December 12th at noon, with visitation preceding at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Raleigh.
