June 4, 1933 - June 7, 2025
Raleigh, North Carolina - Emma Jo Massey Watkins, 92, of Raleigh, NC, joined her eternal savior on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Emma was born on June 4, 1933, to the late Addie and Maggie Massey.
Jo is survived by her son, Michael "Mike" Watkins and his life partner, Laura, of Hiddenite, NC; daughter, Susan Watkins Price and husband, Gary, of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Jenna and Trey Malowaney, of St. Petersburg, FL, Jessica Lynn Price and Ashley Nicole Price, of Raleigh, NC who she loved like her own children with her whole heart and soul; brother, Wilbur "Billy" Massey; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who came to be family to her by their consent.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jesse Wilton "JW" Watkins; daughter, Robin MacAllister Watkins; and brothers, Donald and Jack Massey.
Jo's faith, love for her family and friends, smile, and wit were clearly present as she departed for her heavenly home. To know Jo was to love her genuinely and happily. While she will be dearly missed in the flesh, her spirit will remain with us all.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Wake Cross Roads Church Cemetery, 3328 Forestville Rd, Raleigh, NC 27616.
