When I associate with other Winn Dixie past retired employees, It never fails, a memory of Fred comes up. He was the greatest single person who ever inspired me. Thank you Fred.

Fred was my Boss, my mentor, and most of all a true friend, back in the day at Winn-Dixie. He was an inspiration to many. He could get you excited about a job, and motivate you to the pinnacle of your potential, just by example. I had lost touch in the last years, and I regret that, but, I thought of him often when trying to motivate associates and employees of mine, and was guided successfully by fond memories his many examples he taught me.
You will be missed by many, Mr. Nelson. Rest in Peace, and thank you for your friendship.

Edna, We will miss Fred and his happy, cheerful face and twinkling eyes! He always had a smile and seemed so glad to see everyone when we saw him at Grove Hill Church. So youthful and young at heart. All of my family and his Grove Hill Church family send their love and sympathy. It was an honor to have known him. God Bless you and your family at this sad time.
