George Orrell Obituary
June 9, 1928 - February 27, 2015
Raleigh
George Washington Orrell, 86, died peacefully on Friday after a short illness. He was a retired HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractor. He was a past Exalted Ruler and lifetime member of Raleigh Elks Lodge #735.
Mr. Orrell was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Poole Orrell.
Surviving: daughter, Cathy Lentini; grandsons, James Lee Piper, Jr. and Timothy Piper; granddaughter, Ashley Piper; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Jones; brother-in-law, Clarence Poole, sisters-in-law, Betty L. Odham and D. Ann Poole; numerous cherished nieces and nephews; and faithful companion, Joan Barany.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 3, at 1 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Montlawn Memorial Park.

George; He adopted us the first time we went into the Raleigh Elks. We had just moved from Charlotte, and didn't know anyone until George and Dot. Then he introduced us to everyone at the Elks. Raleigh become home immediately because of our Buddy George. We love you will miss you, but I know you are back with Dot now. Enjoy Eternity!!!

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of George's death. He was a wonderful gentleman and I enjoyed knowing him and being his pastor. That smile of his was so beautiful! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. God bless you.
