My husband and I knew George from high school. He was a memorable person but one we have not seen since then. Through the years we would wonder how he was and I was so sad to look him up one day to learn that he passed on at such a young age. Based on comments and the obituary, it seems George went on to live a colorful, full life - which is something we always thought he would do. Any of us could only wish that years later our personality made such an impact in high school that friends would still remember us fondly. George has gone too soon but is not forgotten. Our condolences to his family and loved ones.

I literally learned a few moments ago that George crossed over to the other side two full years ago. My heart is heavy and aching, as I remember him and his great and sweet energy, his all-embracing spirit and his wonderful knowledge and ways of speaking about astrology. We would have at least one such conversation each year. We met in Raleigh many moons ago at one of his monthly macrobiotic dinners.

Who am I to talk astrology and the cosmos, etc. with, George Ward, now that you are not here? Now that you, too, are an ancestor, I look to communicating more ... No wonder you didn't return my calls... I love you so, now and forever. Thanks for sharing a great part of my life. Blessings!

I think George had returned to North Carolina only a short time before I met him in Noah's Co-op in Raleigh. George seemed brusque to me when we first met, but he became warmer as we got to know each other.

I honed my rudimentary macrobiotic cooking skills, first as a student in classes he held and then by acting as his assistant during classes. There was no recipe that he couldn't improve ("I just added a little more..."). It seemed that he never strictly followed a recipe, even if it were one of his own recipes for a cooking class. He couldn't resist improving the flavor or presentation. Ever. And his audience was appreciative and admiring.

When George shared his garden with me in the early nineties, he gave me an escape from the stress of graduate school. The plots were soft and only required slight digging to get the soil turned. The growth of my plants, the singing of the wood thrush in the adjacent woods, and George's friendship were balms to my spirit. George would greet me from the deck or come down to the garden to visit. Now it is many years later and I am many miles away, but these memories are still dear to me.

Even though we did not keep in touch, I always thought I would see him again one day. I am grieving the fact that this cannot happen on earth.

I found George thru a mutual friend, Sammye Souder, who left last Aug. I am in shock that he has left too. Very very sad. He was a wonderful light in this world, as was Sammye. I hope they are together laughing and enjoying the other side. Till we all meet again~Cindy

George's kindness warmed the hearts of all he met. His insightful nature allowed for the best to be brought out in those of us who had the privilege of knowing him. Through his work as an astrologer he helped to give me an understanding of my life, my direction, and myself. His friendship touched the heart with a deep and profound effect. His smile made the world a better place to be, the memory of it will continue to brighten my days.

I never met George, yet his passing leaves me shocked and deeply saddened. I will miss his calm, soothing voice on the cd channelings from the Pleiadians. His thoughts, insights and stories were the backbone of dear Barbara's work. This Mysterylander will find George and so many others once again in another point in time and space. Rest in peace dear brother.
