I met your Dad in his office in Goldsboro while I was working with a regional planning agency in New Bern. Your dad and myself put together a package for a low income housing project in Holly Ridge, NC. It was a success. I fondly remember his New England accent in a sea of "Southernness." Sorry to hear of his passing.
