Durham, North Carolina - A homegoing Celebration of the Life of Jacqueline (Jackie) E. Williams will be held at the Immanuel Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church in Durham, NC on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. She was born to and preceded in death by her parents, Willie A. Williams, Jr., and Joyce A. Williams both of Durham, NC. The eldest of one sister, Jeryl W. Covington of Greensboro, NC, and one brother, Wyatt A. Williams, of Kansas City, MO, she was an ardent Chiefs' fan and still called Kansas City, Missouri home. Born on January 25, 1960 in Okinawa, Japan, she graduated from Hickman Mills High School in Kansas City, Missouri; was a proud Bennett College Belle; served in the U.S. Army; lived, worked and attended St. James Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. Later in life, she moved to Durham, North Carolina; obtained her graduate degree; continued to free-lance in media services; and attended Morehead Baptist Church and Immanuel Temple SDA Church. She is survived by her sister and brother; one nephew, Daniel Gonzales; two nieces; Jordan Williams and Sidney Covington; three aunts; one uncle; and a gathering of cousins; Church members; and friends. The family will receive family and friends at 2:00 p.m. before the service. Arrangements by Burthey Funeral Service.
