James Eddins Obituary
Howard was born August 31, 1933 in Wake County to the late Wilbert Wesley Eddins and Maggie Flowers Eddins. He graduated in 1951 from Knightdale High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. Howard retired with 30 years of service in the Shipping and Receiving Department with Sears.
Funeral service, 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2020 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel. Burial, Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery, 3329 Forestville Road, Raleigh, NC 27616 with military honors.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at the home of James and Kim Eddins, 3100 McDade Farm Road, Raleigh, NC 27616.
Surviving are his wife, Janet Phipps Eddins; son, James H. Eddins, Jr. and wife, Kim of Raleigh; daughters, Kay E. Coughlin and husband, Mike of Raleigh, Wanda E. Parrish of Raleigh; stepson, Jeffrey Privette and wife, Patricia of Zebulon; grandchildren, Tiffany Forte, Chris Coughlin, Nicole Eddins; brother, Wilbert Eddins of Riverside, CA;
sisters, Margaret E. Keith of Zebulon, Joyce E. Watkins and Faye E. Tyson, both of Raleigh.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Frances McDade Eddins, brothers, Winkie Eddins, Ray Eddins and Marvin Eddins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Home Care and Hospice, 3200 Spring Forest Road, Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27616.
