Janet Durand Obituary

Janet G. Durand, 73 died Tuesday, November 13, 2007.
Janet was very active in the NC Shell Club, Carteret Newcomers Club, Shell Belles, Carteret Literacy Council, Southern Belles and the Atlantic Beach Community Watch.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Munden Funeral Home with Rev. Anne Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Park.
She is survived by her mother, Ellen Grimshaw of Minford OH; daughter, Victoria L. Cote of Glouster, OH: son, Daniel A. Durand of Raleigh; daughter, Kathy Durand of Glouster, OH; son, John C. Durand of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jason and Christopher Knoderer of Glouster, OH, Christopher and David Durand of Wendell; great-grandchildren, Nikki, Kaelyn and Josh Knoderer of Glouster, OH: sisters, Annalese "Babe" Abner of Lexington, OH, Lucy Brown Johns of Sierra Vista, AR, Jane Grimshaw of Chicago, IL, Nettie Agidius of Moscow, ID, Faye Parmenter of Columbus OH, Ruth Deemer of Minford, OH; brothers, Richard and Kenneth Grimshaw, both of Lucasville, OH; and an unaccountable number of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at Munden Funeral Home.

I was very sorry to hear of Janet's passing. I remember Janet fondly and how she organized the Community Watch program and banquet for Atlantic Beach. She was a wonderful woman, always giving of her time and energy. She will be greatly missed.
