Durham, North Carolina - We are sad to announce the passing of Jeanne Robbins Phelps of Durham, NC. She was born on July 26, 1955 and passed away at the age of 68 on September 13, 2023 of pancreatic cancer. She passed away peacefully at Hillcrest Convalescent Center, in Durham, NC. She was a graduate of Jordan High School, class of 1973. She received her B.S and M.S from UNC Chapel Hill. She was a beloved teacher at Wake Tech Community College at the time she retired. She was a kind, loving and generous soul who touched too many lives to count. She was a great daughter, sister, wife and aunt to her extended family. She was a woman who truly embodied Christianity. She was a long-time member of Triangle Grace Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and headed up pot lucks for the single adults. She loved to travel to Jekyll Island with her friends. She was an adventurous foodie. She enjoyed spending her time reading the Bible and working on becoming closer to God. She was predeceased by her father, Philip DeLeon Robbins; her mother, Jeanne Weaver Robbins; and her husband, Mark Phelps. She is survived by her three brothers; Philip Robbins of Yulee, FL, Joseph Robbins of Durham, NC and David Robbins of Raleigh, NC. The Services will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Triangle Grace Church in Durham, NC at 2 PM. Condolences may be shared at CremationSocietyNC.com
