Forgive me I am not a writer. While I am extended family and I didn't directly know Jimmy very well, I felt I did. I am thankful I was able to experience so much of him with his family, friends and events as that was where he seemed so happy. My sorrow for Denise, his family and friends who he was so instrumental in has been so strangely strong. I sympathize with void they are feeling. I feel his passing as such a similarity to the passing of my wife Marys father Ed Dever at an similarly untimely age. I imagine Jimmy was enjoying and preparing for so many new chapters with Jess and Daniel's new marriage, enjoying the celebrations, spending time with friends and family, enjoying his yard and garden.
One of the first times I got to meet Jimmy was when we had an amazing birthday for my mother Flora at the Angus Barn, his endless care for us was only surpassed by his making sure Daniel had the most incredible doggie bag I could imagine. My kids still insist we return for every celebration! Ribs, Ribs, Ribs!
Whether at cookouts for Lizz, Jessica or whoever's celebration, preparing for Jessica and Daniels wedding, or just any excuse to have a party he was so amazing to be around. The most amazing wedding I have ever attended(my own withstanding) was Jessica and Daniels with Jimmy and Denise at their best he was in his absolute element. I am without words.
Some of my favorite recollections are from the recollections of others. While hanging out with Melissa, Skip or Daniel more often than not a reminiscence of some time with Jimmy would come up describing the food, the company, the companionship or care he had provided. Often we would talk about some type of project and I would hear Jimmy has a guy this phrase became almost mythical and for me will forever remind me of him. His continuous influence in his family, friends and community.
So many leave us much too early make sure to enjoy your Jimmy's( and Ed's)

My deepest condolences to the Alfano family. I didn't have the honor of knowing Mr. Alfano personally, but I know Jess, and she would light up every time she spoke about him. My heart goes out to you and your family Jess.

Jimmy Alfano was a good man. He was a customer of mine at da Vinci's Pasta for many years. He was funny, creative and above all he loved his family. When he came in to our shop he talked about his wife and children. He also loved working at The Barn and his Barn family. It was an honor to know him and he will be missed by so many.
