JoAnn Wheat Obituary

Mrs. Jo Ann Mason Wheat, 74, passed away December 15, 2007, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born in High Point on February 18, 1933 to the late Will Davis Mason and Juanita Evans Mason.
Mrs. Wheat had been employed at Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance Company in Greensboro and later at Hewlett-Packard in High Point. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in High Point and after she and her family moved to Greensboro she became a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wheat and her family later moved to Raleigh where she volunteered at the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities and Meals on Wheels. She was also an active member of the Quail Meadows Garden Club. While living in Greensboro and Raleigh she enjoyed bowling and was in several leagues. Mostly, she loved being a homemaker and traveling with her husband.
Mrs. Wheat was married to Horace Wheat who preceded her in death on February 15, 2004.
Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Wheat-Robinson and husband, Michael of Winterville; a son, Curtis A. Wheat and wife, Amy of Mooresville; grandchildren, Justin and Lindsey Robinson of Winterville and Taylor and Ragan Wheat of Mooresville.
The funeral will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26th in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point by Reverend Harold Shives. Interment will be in Floral Garden Memorial Park.
A visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Joseph and Kathleen Bryan Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at Duke University Medical Center, P.O. Box 3503, Durham, N.C. 27710 or to Community Home Care and Hospice, 2506 Charles Blvd., Greenville, N.C. 27858.
