John Delton Eason, Sr., 67, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016. He was born in Nash County November 14, 1948 to the late Henry John and Estelle Pittman Eason. He was retired from Clay Strickland Farms. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Nellie Nelms.
John is survived by his wife Doris Winstead Eason; sons John Delton Eason, Jr., John Robert "Robbie" Eason, Kevin Strickland; daughters Michelle Eason Parker (Lee), Kim Evans ( Jonathan); grandchildren Kyle Pridgen (Carrie), Nikki Cole, Lauren Parker, Anna Evans, Warren Parker, Jenna Evans; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Levi Pridgen; sister Norma Bozelle (Nate).
A service to celebrate his life will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home of Michelle Parker.

Big John will be missed. He had a tremendous personality and a generous heart. Our lake patrol commander has gone on to a better place.

I will always remember Big John. He was the First guy I met at the lake. He was our neighbor hood watchman on the south side, always offering his advise and/or tools if you needed them. Good Lord, he surely could cook a pig. I surely will miss him riding his golf cart checking out everything and everybody.
