John Locklear Obituary
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 09, 2007, First Baptist Church of Belmont. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 08, 2007, First Baptist Church of Belmont.
JP was a 2006 graduate of South Point High School and was planning to attend Gaston College. He enjoyed life, had a giving heart, never met a stranger and was always smiling. He was outgoing, loved his family and friends and had a natural affinity of animal life, cars, music and his sister, Molly. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Belmont.
Survivors includes parents, Dr. and Mrs. David Glenn Locklear; sister, Molly Locklear; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl S. Ransom of Pembroke; uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond F. Murphy of Canada, Mr. George R. Murphy of Benson, Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Murphy of Cary, Mr. and Mrs. G. Patrick Murphy of Raleigh, Mr. and Mrs. Brian J. Murphy of Fayetteville, Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Oxendine of Pembroke, Mr. and Mrs. Larry R. Jones of Parkton, Mr. and Mrs. Gary B. Locklear of Raleigh, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stroud of Columbia, SC, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Bartley of Orlando, Fl., Ms. Wanda Ransom of Durham & Dr. and Mrs. Earl S. Ransom, Jr. of Durham; numerous cousins, great friends and his pet dog "Brewsky."
Officiating clergy, Reverend Robert Baker and Dr. James C. Hilton.

JP, it is hard to believe that it has been almost 1 year. It seems like only yesterday that you were here. Ashley went to the debutante Thanksgiving ball this weekend and you were not there. She and Bradley miss you dearly as we all do. Just keep smiling and laughing as you always did. We miss you and love you!!!!!

JP was a wonderful human being. My daughter and him were best friends and thru that friendship my family came to love him. We will greatly miss him, his laughter, his love of life, his friendship. He was so special to us. JP we will always remember you. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. I know heaven is a better place now that you are there. See you at the crossroads one day.

I am so sorry to hear about your son, Patrick. I feel that I knew him and your family throughout the years of pictures and stories as you were there for me as a physician. I cannot imagine what your family is going thru but please know that our entire family has yours in our prayers and thoughts.
