John Meany Obituary

John "Jack" Regan Meany, IV

July 4, 2007 - November 3, 2024

Bear Creek, North Carolina - John "Jack" Regan Meany, IV, 17, of Bear Creek passed unexpectantly Sunday, November 3rd, 2024.

John was born on July 4th, 2007, in Southern Pines, NC to Jack and Cynthia Meany.

John is survived by his parents, John "Jack" R. Meany, III of Bryant, AR, and Cynthia D. Meany of Bear Creek; his sisters, Samantha Drohin (Ethnan) of Spring Hope, Erin Meany of Southern Pines, Sarah Meany of Denver, CO, Samantha Meany of Cary, NC, and Sally Meany of Bear Creek; and his brothers, Cody Davis of Raleigh, NC, and Hayden Davis (Genia) of Bear Creek; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.

John was a student at Chatham Central High School. He was an energetic person that loved doing back flips and finding anything to jump off of even if it was his brother's shoulders. He enjoyed working on cars, hanging out with his friends, and listening to music. Jack is a quiet soul enjoyed the presence of the wild. He loved being outside, watching the sunset, fishing under the stars. Jack was fearless. He would defend anyone/anything he loved and cared about, and he fought for the things he believed in. Jack strived for greatness, anything he could do he would always find a way to do it better. Jack spoke through his music; he loved listening to loud music and if you sat and listened you can hear his feelings. He was a strong, smart, and beautiful young man. Jack would wake up and look for the challenge in the day. No day will go by without remembering Jackie, his smile would light up a dark forest. Jack was a son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. Most of all, Jack was a blessing from God to this family. He taught us to never give up, always fight, and do bigger. Jack taught many to live life fearlessly. Until we meet again, you are loved and missed. John will forever be missed and loved by all that knew him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 11th, 2024, at 4 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. I knew Jack when he was just a little boy, coming to our church, Aberdeen First Baptist, with his sister, Sally. What a sweet boy he was...My heart goes out to the family for this great loss. I will be lifting you all up in my prayers for strength during this difficult time.
