John E. Parker

Morehead City

John Edwards Parker, 68, of Morehead City, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Carteret General Hospital.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Lowery officiating.

John graduated from N.C. State with a Bachelor's degree in business finance. He retired from First Citizens Bank after a 42 year career. He loved boating and fishing as well as his Wednesday night poker game. Big John was an avid bargain hunter who was well known for his skills with E-bay and Craigslist.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandy Parker of the home; two daughters, Kim Ridel and husband Marc of Raleigh, and Christy Beaudoin-Parker and fiancé Darren DeSoi of Richmond, VA; also three grandchildren, Parker Ridel, Holden Beaudoin, and Harrison Beaudoin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mattie Erma Parker.

The family will receive friends at Munden Funeral Home at 11:00 am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago, Illinois 60611-3201.
