My deepest condolences for your loss. I had many interesting conversations with Joe over the years when we would meet by chance as we walked our dogs in the neighborhood. He will be missed.

We are so sad to hear of Joe's passing. He was such a staple in the neighborhood. He was also so helpful and caring towards all the families on the street. Our kids loved him and will have stories to tell about he and Missy for years to come. We feel blessed to have known him.

To the Morgan Family,
On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on Joseph's passing. We grieve with you on the loss of your loved one and our shipmate. The SUBVETS will have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and Joseph, who earned his 'fish' when he qualified on USS COCHINO SS-345 in 1947 and survived the sinking of the COCHINO, will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin and a great Patriot.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Morgan Family. I met Joe at UPS at RDU when he was visiting his son, Mike. He knew a lot of the same people that my Dad Jack Holt knew. Dad grew up in the Five Points area. Jan and I offer our sincere condolences to the Morgan Family.

Joe Morgan was a WW II Veteran, one of the Greatest Generation group, and a hero to quite a few people. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy Submarine Service, and was one of the survivors of the USS Cochino (SS345), which sunk on August 25, 1949. Joe fell into 48 degree water and was rescued by a shipmate. He was a member of the USSVI Tarheel Base and a Holland Club Member.
On behalf of the Tarheel Base Submarine Veterans, we offer our deepest condolences and prayers to Joe's family at this sad time.
Belief in God the Father Almighty will carry them through this difficult period.

Joe was a great man. He was such a great father-in-law to me. I will miss his stories, his hugs, and even him aggravating and picking on me! I love him dearly and will see him again in Heaven.
