Josephine Watkins, -100- , passed away Friday, January 26, 2018. She was born September 15, 1917 in Wake County to the late Luther Martin Watkins and Wealthy Ailie Richards. She retired from Knightdale Elementary School where she worked in the cafeteria for over 19 years. She was a member of Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church for over 80 years. "Nannie" took great pride in recently celebrating her 100th birthday with her family and friends.

Funeral service 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 28, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, 27545. Burial Watkins Family Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Surviving: daughter, Hilda W. Watkins and husband, Gerald Phelps of Raleigh & Sims; grandchildren: Joey Watkins of Raleigh, Sheila Ellis and husband Jim of Wendell; great-grandchildren: Taylor and Rocco Mazzeo; half-sister, Mildred Jones of Raleigh; foster son, Herbert Riley and wife Beatrice of Knightdale.

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Delphious Watkins; sisters: Alice and Aveline; brothers: Carl, Ralph, Lawrence, Odell, Dick and Randy.
