Katie Davis Evans, 33, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2012 at the Hospice House from a cardiac episode suffered on December 23, 2011. Katie was born in Wake County on October 30, 1978 to John Thomas Davis and Barbara Bailey. She graduated from Wake Forest-Rolesville High School in 1997 and went on to receive her BA in communications from North Carolina State University in December 2004. She was currently employed by BBH in sales and computer marketing.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, January 27, 2012 at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3329 Forestville Road, Raleigh, NC 27616 with the Dr. Bill Bowyer officiating.
Burial: Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery
Surviving: Husband Ronald Nicholas Evans, Children Myles Davis Evans, London Nicole Evans, Paris Kae Evans, Father John Thomas Davis and his wife, Carolyn of Raleigh, Mother Barbara Bailey of Clayton, Brothers John Paul Davis and his wife, Amy of Spring Hope, Jason Andrew Davis, and his wife, Candi of Zebulon, Step-Sisters Robin B. Luttrell and husband, John of Spartanburg, SC, Amy B. Pearce of Roanoke, VA, Brother-In-Law Stuart Watson of Arizona, Mother-In-Law Ruth Elaine Massenburg of Wake Forest
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 26, 2012 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at 4516 Winslet Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
The family has asked that flowers be omitted and contributions be made to her children. Contributions may be made at any State Employees Credit Union. In order for contributions to go into the correct account the following address must be used, 4516 Winslet Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Katie was a great person, I can remember standing in the break room discussing how hard it was to find long jeans. It's the small moments that you remember. I will miss you Katie and our prayers are with you and your family.

Katie,
I am having a very hard time knowing that you have left us...and I am sad I can't be there today to say goodbye. So young and so much life still in you. I pray for your family and especially your children. I think that is the hardest part for me, knowing that today is the last day they will see you.
You were a great friend to me and you will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have met you. I am so glad that our paths crossed in life. I am only left wishing that they had crossed for a longer period of time.

There is no way to appropiatly express sorrow for this passing except to say she's home now. My relationship to you is through your dad, a very close friend. May the children which you brought into this world know how much they were loved and how much love you'll give them through their walk in this life.

Katie (aka Leggs), We've known each other since elementary school & graduated together @ WF-R. I will always remember standing next to you and only coming up waist high to you, lol. We were the odd pair (shortest & tallest girls in the school). I had a random dream about you prior to my knowledge of your hospital stay. I had no idea you were simply 'making your rounds' to say 'your goodbyes' on your way to a better place. You will truly be missed & forever remembered. Sending my condolences to the Davis family. Katie. You are an amazing person. I am truly blessed to have met you and share some of my most memorable times and laughs with you. It is so hard to find people in this life that we can truly call a FRIEND and you were one of those rare finds. Robby and I are so very sorry to hear about Katie's passing. My son, David, went to school with Katie and remembers her great personality and those basketball days as well. My Mom and Dad, Bill and Joann Mitchell I'm sure remember Katie playing basketball as they never missed a game then nor do they miss them now. They are still strong WF-R supporters of all sports. Katie, you will be missed, but we will all have a smile on our face knowing that there is another great angel looking down from up above. I never saw nothing but a smile on your face, and although I knew you for a short time, I'll always have you and your family in my prayers.
I wish I could be there to say my last goodbye, but at least I know that I'll be able to say "HI" again when we meet up there. I know you'll be watching over your girls and hubby, and my blessings will be with them as well.
Its a sad time for us here on earth, but I'm sure there's a party going on up in Heaven. Rest in Peace Katie.....

I was so sorry to hear about Kattie's passing. There are many memories of basketball and her playing with my daughter. I remember her being a very sweet and beautiful young girl. I am sorry that we had lost touch with so many old friends at WFH but think of those days often. My prayers go out to the family and her children. We all have lost a wonderful lady to early but heaven has gained an angel.

I saw Katie for the first time since high school about a year ago at a going-away celebration for April. She was a strikingly beautiful, strong, and inspiring woman, and it was wonderful to catch up with her. My heart goes out to the family and her children. Sudden loss is very difficult-I lost my brother at 34. May God give you all strength and a sense of peace.

I worked with Katie all throughout October - December 2012 on my non profit for Walnut Terrace Angel Tree. She was so awesome and sweet and continued to follow up with me weekly. Her great attitude ignited so many others to get involved and she was truly excited about the kids and making sure they got tons of presents for the holiday. She had such an impact on me and her sweet spirit and wonderful smile will stay with me (and in my soul) forever. I am sorry I didnt get to know her more and wont be able to nourish the beginnings of a great friendship.

but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
