September 8, 1939 - April 15, 2025

Pittsboro, North Carolina - J. Kenneth Boggs, Jr. ("Ken"), age 85 of Galloway Ridge, Pittsboro, NC, died peacefully at his residence on April 15, 2025. Ken is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Lucas, of Galloway Ridge, Pittsboro, NC. Ken is also survived by his four daughters, Heather Boggs, Holly O'Neill, Stacie Dietsch, and Shelley Hinkle, along with their respective spouses, 11 grandchildren and Ken's two brothers-in-law. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia ("Ginger") Boggs and Ken Boggs Sr., and by his two sisters, Candace Drimmer and Martha Gazley.

Ken was born and raised in Princeton, NJ and was an excellent student who grew up with a strong sense of civic duty. During Ken's years at Princeton High School, he was fortunate to work at The Institute for Advanced Study where he was introduced to the early stages of computer technology. After graduating from the University of Texas, Austin, he was hired by IBM in Houston, TX. He enjoyed a successful career for 38 years with IBM, acting as a Senior Project Manager as well as teaching project management and mentoring colleagues. Ken was also a published author. Ken had many hobbies including singing and playing guitar, genealogy research, ham radio, woodworking and gardening.

Ken had an infectious smile and sense of humor. He was loved by all who knew him, and he is missed.

I will always remember Grandpa Ken for his infectious laughter and his amusing science t-shirts that always brought a smile to my face. He will be deeply missed.
