Lewis Knight Obituary
Born on December 4, 1935, in Andrews, Indiana, Lewis was shaped by his Midwestern upbringing, which instilled in him values of humility, resilience, and kindness. These principles guided him throughout his life-from his service as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force to his 35-year career as an electrical/mechanical engineer with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Lewis shared sixty-nine years of devoted partnership with his wife, Rose Ann Knight. Together they built a family that remained his greatest source of pride. He is survived by Rose Ann; their four children and spouses-Cheri Knight Long and J.T. Long, Keith Knight, Matt Knight and Bill O'Brien, Troy and Kristen Knight; and three grandchildren-Alexandria Knight, Tyler Knight, and Caden Knight.
He found joy in woodworking, tending to his garden, feeding the birds, and sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and neighbors. Known for his quiet strength and willingness to help others, Lewis offered steady support in both everyday moments and times of need.
A private family service will be held to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a cancer research foundation of your choice in tribute to Lewis's strength and perseverance.
Lewis Alan Knight will be remembered for his integrity, generosity of spirit, gentle humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
